"Hello Stranger" was exhibited at Campbelltown Art Centre, Sydney as part of “Sheer Fantasy” curated by Sydney Artist David Capra. This installation brings the themes and textures of the 1970s road movie to life. Wrapped in the iconic Monument Valley cinemascape sits a beaten up truck, chauffeured by the archetypal lonesome and chatty traveller Renny Kodgers. On entering his cab, visitors are transported into another world of pickled eggs, wrong directions and slow conversations measured by the dial on the speedometer.
This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body
Thank you to the installation crew and staff from CAC. Brenten Creasy, Michael Dagostino, Rod and Ian Plant, Kieryn McKay, Deanne and Ric Shorter, David Capra, and Gertrude Contemporary.
