Big Pinky
Big Pinky (2016)
Big Pinky is a kinetic sculpture that playfully interprets the mechanics of the male form. Long and tall the work presents as a statuesque figure. But it’s elegance is undermined by its awkward turning apparatuses, which crank in an asynchronous rhythm. This action is powered by a single operator and ironically recalls the action of trying to rub your stomach and pat your head at the same time.
