This work complicates the historical understanding of Hans Heysen's painting, Mystic Morn (1904). While acknowledging its esteemed place in the Australian pastoral tradition “Song for Heyson” also recontextualises the painting into an alternate space and time continuum that extends beyond Australia's European discovery and colonisation.
