“The Double-Backed Beast” is a hydraulic sculpture that can lift and pivot a person up to 3 metres high. The work is an invitation to merge with a machine and submit to the hydraulic power. It is inspired by two slugs making love whom shift and turn in synchronicity from a tenuous string of mucous.
