Tierra Trompetas
The project unfolded over four days and was produced in the Lecrín Valley (Spain) through the University of Granada’s alRaso residency program with 10 emerging artists. The prompt for "Tierra Trompetas" was a desire to “cast a sound” directly from the valley's terrain. We dug holes beside the Río Ízbor and cast them in situ in plaster. The resulting negative volumes were then sounded using rubber membranes, balloons and pipes. After the work was finished, the forms were reverberated into the valley in a one-hour action.
